Yes, the principle of reputation is very tricky. It requires the fluid and ongoing recalibration of many many events from many many people so that over time, recent positives “rehabilitate” the past. We can also re-imagine what a reputation system is. Think of blockchain. You represent your reputation merely by participating on the platform. There is little room for transgression. In the future there may be many different types of platform that reflect various degrees of risk and freedom, and your reputation might consist of which platforms you are most likely to participate with.
