Yes, humans organize with animals, too as well as tools, instruments and technological devices. I am not sure I agree that we optimize the energy load of “eternal task demands” internally. I don’t believe it is possible to do that, because the external environment is never closed. Thinking in terms of internal homeostasis, I can accept the notion of optimization, but actually everything always “wobbles” and is coupled with the environment … so sticking to that too rigidly can be problematic.
